Kentucky VINE Custody Coverage
Kentucky runs VINE as a statewide custody notification service. The page from the Attorney General frames it as information and alerts for victims. Its reach is broad. The Department of Corrections VINE page explains that data can flow from jail booking systems, prisons, and mental-health facilities. Some juvenile custody matters appear too.
Each result is one agency's status report. It is a status check, not a full record. The jail's own site does not promise that every local booking feeds into VINE. Run the Kentucky search first. Look for the person and a Caldwell facility, then call the jail if the answer truly matters. A blank result can come from a spelling mismatch, a transfer, a release, or a missing record, so treat it carefully.
The VINELink state-selection screen is the official place to pick Kentucky.

The VINELink entry screen shows service options without exposing anyone's record or alert settings.
Check a Caldwell County Arrest
Start with details that separate people who share a name. A birth date or middle name works well. After Kentucky is chosen, VINELink may search by name or an identification number. Follow the labels in the current interface, since the service changes. A county or facility filter narrows things further. A similar name alone never proves you found the right person.
- Open VINELink and select Kentucky.
- Choose local custody or Caldwell County if the interface offers that filter.
- Enter the full name or known offender identifier exactly.
- Compare the facility, agency, identifier, and status on every possible match.
- Record when the search was made, then call the jail if the status is urgent.
A hit at another facility can mean a transfer, not a new arrest. State custody is different. A Kentucky Department of Corrections location shows the person is in state hands, not booked at the Caldwell jail. For local intake, call the county jail. The VINELink search interface supports a specific-person check without publishing private contact data.

The interface is a custody tool, not a browsable gallery of arrest photos.
Caldwell VINELink Result Fields
VINELink is built around custody status and alerts. It does nothing more. A police report, a jail intake record, and a court disposition each live elsewhere. A person may have been transferred between agencies. Read every label with that in mind. Field names can shift depending on which institution supplies the record.
| Result field | What it can establish |
|---|---|
| Name or identifier | Helps distinguish possible matches; verify identity. |
| Custody status | Shows the status reported by the participating system at that time. |
| Facility or location | Identifies the institution supplying the custody record. |
| Release or transfer event | May trigger an alert after an agency update. |
| Notification options | Shows registration channels available for that record. |
No booking photograph comes through VINELink. For a Caldwell County booking photo or intake record, the Caldwell County Jail is the best first stop, and Kentucky's open-records process works for anything the custodian holds. CourtNet and the Circuit Clerk play a different role. They track the case and its outcome after the arrest and booking.
Register for Kentucky Custody Alerts
Kentucky lets you register by phone or email. The options depend on the record you pick. The Attorney General posts the VINE telephone line at 1-800-511-1670, staffed around the clock. You can list more than one number. A four-digit PIN acknowledges a call. It does not reveal the tracked person's name to whoever else picks up.
- Open the verified person's VINELink record and select notifications.
- Choose an available phone or email channel and enter details carefully.
- Create the requested four-digit PIN and store it safely.
- Review covered events, such as release, transfer, or another custody change.
- Complete confirmation without entering another person's private contact information.
A release call may go unanswered. The system may keep trying for up to 24 hours under the Attorney General's description. State institutions attempt notice before release when they can. Advance warning is not promised every time. The Attorney General's VINE explanation covers statewide access and notification practices. Kentucky DOC Victim Services offers program help. Call (502) 564-5061, toll-free (877) 687-6818, or email OVS.Help@ky.gov.

The official explanation is the best source for statewide registration mechanics and expectations.
Caldwell Alerts Versus Other Notices
Caldwell County offers other alert systems, but none of them tracks custody. Hyper-Reach sends general emergency messages to the county. It has no link to jail intake. So its phone line is not an arrest or release alert. A Princeton Police social post or a WPKY news story can mention a single arrest. Neither follows a case through booking and release. The Caldwell sheriff also lists no mobile app and no native booking notification service.
Match the tool to the question at hand. VINE watches one named person's custody changes in participating systems. The jail answers direct questions about who is in custody right now. CourtNet and the county clerk hold the case record. KOOL tracks people in Kentucky state corrections. Keeping those roles straight cuts down on false matches. It also keeps an emergency broadcast from being mistaken for a jail arrest feed.
VINE Is Not a Mugshot Source
Kentucky VINE answers one narrow question. Which custody status is a participating agency reporting, and can a person register for updates? That is the whole job. It does not show Caldwell County booking photos. A photo, when one exists, sits with the booking record the jail or another custodian keeps. Try the official jail application first. Then call the jail if the screen leaves the question open.
This line trips up plenty of people. An old news story or an unofficial arrest page can stay online long after release, while VINELink shows a newer custody event or no result at all. A news image cannot prove anyone is still in custody. Publication simply outlasts the jail stay. A copied charge may not match a later amendment either. The booking custodian can speak to the source arrest record, and the Caldwell Circuit Clerk can confirm what happened in court. VINE stays on notification duty rather than photographs or case history.
Caldwell VINELink Limits and Verification
A fresh Caldwell County booking can lag while intake wraps up and data moves from the jail system. Someone may be released before any search catches it. Recheck spelling, identifiers, county, and facility before deciding there is no record. Need a fast answer? Call the Caldwell County Jail at (270) 365-6790. The official jail sits at 111 E. Market Street in Princeton.
Federal and immigration custody sit outside Kentucky VINE's local role. The Bureau of Prisons and ICE each run separate locators. Kentucky Offender Online Lookup tracks the state corrections population, not every county arrest. Hyper-Reach sends Caldwell County emergency notices, not booking alerts. The sheriff's office lists no booking app or push-alert service.
Verify: Treat VINELink as a notification aid, not a safety plan or guaranteed real-time record. Confirm urgent information with the jail.
For a very fresh arrest, start with the jail. The Caldwell County 24 Hour Arrests source map lays out that path. Broader county channels sit on the home page.
